Sea ice monitoring
The division is involved in the development of methods for monitoring sea ice in the Arctic and the Antarctic regions, using both radar data, by operating a unique web-based system to chart sea-ice drift, and radiometer data, for the mapping of sea-ice concentration in near-real-time.
MRS contributes to the Copernicus operational marine monitoring service. You can find out more about our projects through the following links:
