50-year-old satellite data from Antarctica provides new insight into shrinking sea ice

A DTU researcher and a group of students have used unique satellite data to create a picture of Antarctic sea ice extent dating back to the early 1970s. This new mapping may contribute to a better understanding of developments in recent years, where sea ice extent has reached record lows.
